ReASONS FOR &DATE OF FOUNDING
REASON: Pennsylvania is a middle colony founded by William Penn and some other Quakers. Mainly this colony's goal was to strive for religious freedom.
ANALYSIS: William Penn came to found the colony of Pennsylvania in order to achieve religious freedom. His whole concept was based on the Holy Experiment which was where all religions could flee for safety.

ECONOMY
The main economy in Pennsylvania is agriculture. More prominent crops include wheat& corn while other industries produce milk from cattle and lumber and paper from trees. Textiles were also a big factor in the Pennsylvanian economy.
AFFECTS: The economy in Pennsylvania affects future settlers because of the type of business Pennsylvania focused on trade and profit but also had the unique textile industry which would boom in money for new settlers.

GEOGRAPHY
The climate and geography of the Pennsylvania colony included a hilly geography with excellent soil for the planting of crops. The climate included harsh winters but is considered to be an overall temperate climate. The geography did include mountain areas and lake access for fishing.
AFFECTS: This geography affects settlers because of the fertile soil. Being a settler, you would generally plant your own foo , so this is an excellent factor.

GOVERNMENT
In 1682 Penn published his "frame of government," which was to be submitted to the people of the province for approval. In 1683 this was amended, in the second Assembly of the province, and a charter of liberties granted which made Pennsylvania almost fully a representative democracy.
AFFECTS: Many people in colonial times favored this type of government which funded new settlers.

RELIGION
The main religion of Colonial Pennsylvania were the Quakers. However, the founder stated that all religions would be accepted. This included Mennonites and Calvinists, among others.
AFFECTS: Pennsylvania has mostly free religion which made for a positive environment.

FOUNDING DOCUMENTS
This constitution basically stated the rights and grants of the Pennsylvanian people as well as subjected and provided government ruling.
RESIDENT REQUIREMENTS

TARGET RESIDENTSThe ideal citizen for Pennsylvania would be much like the founder, William Penn. A person accepting of all religion and a taste for the frame of government. They would own a farm that produced wheat and corn as well cattle and a textile agency.
