Reasons for date of founding
Thomas Hooker believed the Puritan governor and officials had too much power, while he was in Massachusetts Bay. So he wanted to set up a colony with strict limitations on government. In May of 1636, he led 100 settlers to Hartford, Connecticut. Which led to the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, which was one of the first democratic constitutions that established a representative government.
Analysis of why the colony was founded and how it affects who moves to the colony
The colony was founded in the first place because Thomas Hooker did not like how much power the Puritan governor and officials had, while in Massachusetts Bay. So he led settlers to Hartford, Connecticut. It affected the people who moved their by not having good crops due to the poor rocky soil. It also gave them no religious freedom so they had to be Puritan.
Economy
The economy was based on manufacturing and industries. For example, shipbuilding and the manufacture and export of rum. The colonists in other towns of Connecticut made their living off of fishing, whaling, shipbuilding and shipping. Other parts of the colony's economy was based on timber products, fur trade, maple syrup, copper, livestock products, horses, rum, whiskey and beer.
Geography
Connecticut had narrow lowlands and hilly eastern upland. It had mountains with trees, rivers, and poor rocky soil which made farming difficult.
Government
Was known as a charter colony. A charter colony is a British colony created by royal charter under the control of an individual.
analysis of how government, geography, economy and religion of each colony has affected each of the colonies
Government had an affect on the settlers by giving them more power, not having no power at all. Geography had an affect on the settlers from the bad soil. They couldn't grow crops and make more money. Economy had an affect on the settlers from fur trade, (<--- Example) the fur kept them warm during the winters. Also fish had an affect because they couldn't eat crops unless they traded. Religion had an affect on the settlers from not being able to worship what they choose. They had to be and worship the Puritan religion.
